The Honeymoon

After 14 long years I finally made it back to Hawaii. One of my favorite moments I had was being able to finally put my feet in the clean white sand. This was at one of my favorite beaches, Kailua Beach.
What made my visit even better though was the fact that it was my honeymoon. I loved being able to share my old home with my husband, visiting all the old familiar places.
This was at Pali lookout.  In 1795 King Kamehameha defeated Oahu armies by driving them over the cliffside. Its obviously a beautiful site, but what makes it even more fun is how windy it is!
It was tough fitting everything we wanted to do but we did get to do a lot of things. I had always wanted to swim with dolphins and this was a great opportunity so we did and it was AWESOME. We also went to Hanauma Bay.
Hanauma Bay is a huge coral reef where you can snorkel. While snorkeling among dozens of different kinds of fish ranging from teenie-tiny to massive (and of course hundreds of different colors) I also saw a sea snake and a sea turtle. It was an amazing experience. If given the choice I would devote an entire day to snorkeling here.

We made sure to make time for a stop at the USS Memorial in at Pearl Harbor. Unfortunately  I didn't have camera battery left to use at the Arizona Memorial because Tim took so many pictures at the museum beforehand. lol.
One thing that disappointed me at the Arizona memorial was the amount of people that were talking (loudly), and taking pictures of them smiling if front of the sunken ship. Don't get me wrong, I completely think it's ok to to take pictures of the Arizona, I think its a good way to remind people about what happened. However, SMILING in front a place were over a thousand men were trapped and killed for a picture is completely disrespectful.

Another fun thing we did was parasailing. It was definitely an experience worth having. Being 800 Ft in the air above water, and mountains in front of you is an incredible view.

Well thats a few things we did on our wonderful honeymoon. It was definitely something I will never forget.
